I was born in 1980 in Ankara, Turkey and grew up in a family that blended two distinct food cultures. My father’s meat dishes and rich desserts and my mother’s vegetable dishes, milk desserts and the delicious cookies and cakes that engulfed our home with the scent of vanilla…
Our kitchen culture constantly grew with new recipes we picked up during our stays in different cities in Turkey. My mother compiled notes of these recipes for many long years. With university, a professional career, marriage and a beautiful child, it took me a while to discover and try these recipes.
Now, with these notes on Turkish cuisine and my evolving experience with different cuisines abroad, I would like to share my culinary journey with you.
